Time

How do we measure time in the universe

Where the sun is not the center and

Our revolutions are insignificant?

How would we measure a year in

Andromeda or Alpha Centauri?

Is time real or irrelevant?

Here, the past begets regret and

The future begets anxiety

Borne of unknown uncertainty.

Time is a mechanism to permit measurements of failures and accomplishments.

It is both test and gift.

But to the great expanse, all our angst,

all the consequences in time and space,

seems to vanish with speed like Higgs boson.

They are converted into something other,

so I’ve often been told.

They are redeemed and purified like gold.
