Are you busy, Lord?
It sometimes doesn’t seem so.
You may appreciate the still life.
The photo show. The solitary wren
in the peak of the ash tree.
The reflection of the lone seagull
In low flight over a mirrored lake.
The otter emerging from its holt.
The shoreline boulders that never move.
The silent shimmer of sunlight’s dance.
The purple and yellow blooms
on gorse and heather.
Silence is your music of winter
and you bring me here
to remember to surrender
to the still life.
