I wake before dawn each day
For one year, I map the exact location
The nexus of first flame to horizon
Neither static nor unpredictable
Over time, the swath of entry
Is surprisingly large
East is a somewhat relative term
I walk before dusk each day
For one year, I chart with precision
Where last flame intersects with Cnoc Ceannuch
Neither static nor unpredictable
The departure zone is surprising large
West is a somewhat relative term
Every day, I observe the four dimensions
Light, width, height and time
I witness the variations within limitations
I stand in awe, gobsmacked, many times
But sometimes, like last night,
I see the fifth dimension.
Unpredictable.
