Lamentation

The village population is swollen by distant wars unwanted. Gaelic sounds Ukrainian or African. All these women and children

separated from their homelands, husbands, adult male children. Some Christmas this is. The New Year is the same Old Year’s pain. All this continues on. Seemingly without end.
