Cathedral Bars

If I knocked on the door of the cathedral

Found it locked and rattled the bars of the windows

If I cried out for help when no one was looking

And my wife sobbed to see my try

If the gates to glory were sealed tight shut

and the silence deafening like the vacuum of space

If all these attempts to connect with you failed,

Where would I turn my gaze next?
